À noite, em dias nublados, o Centro de Curitiba bem que poderia ser o cenário de um filme noir. Foi exatamente isso que inspirou o experiente fotógrafo Luiz Costa a registrar cenas para a série Olhar Curitiba, publicada no site da prefeitura. O cinema noir é caracterizado pelo jogo de sombras e por composições escuras que constroem a narrativa de mistério e enigma do enredo e dos personagens.
Com quase 30 anos de carreira, Costa registrou a vida noturna da cidade em lugares como o calçadão da Rua XV de Novembro, o Largo da Ordem, o Parque Barigui, a Praça Generoso Marques e o pipoqueiro que fica na esquina da Travessa Tobias de Macedo com a Rua Barão do Serro Azul, com a Catedral Basílica ao fundo – uma das imagens mais bonitas da série. “São imagens corriqueiras, mas que, à noite, com a luz certa, parecem cenas de cinema”, explica o fotógrafo. As fotos também mostram a Curitiba que dorme mais tarde: comerciantes, boêmios e frequentadores da noite curitibana, algo que poucos olhos conseguem enxergar e entender seus significados.
