A fábrica da Volkswagen de São José dos Pinhais está sob nova direção. O executivo Leandro Lemos de Oliveira é o novo Head da indústria em substituição a Marcos Ruza, que esteve à frente da unidade desde fevereiro de 2017 e se aposentou. Oliveira iniciou sua carreira na Volkswagen em 2000, como ponteador na fábrica de Taubaté (SP). Atuou também como analista de processos e supervisor da área de Armação na fábrica da Anchieta, também em São Paulo e em 2014 assumiu a gerência da mesma área na fábrica do Paraná. Depois, retornou para a unidade Anchieta em 2017 como gerente executivo da Manufatura.
Inaugurada em 1999, a fábrica de São José dos Pinhais é a mais moderna da Volkswagen no Brasil, responsável pela produção dos modelos T Cross, Fox e Audi A3 Sedan, já produziu mais de 2,7 milhões de veículos e atualmente emprega cerca de 2.600 pessoas. Em fevereiro, a unidade comemorou 20 anos de operação com o lançamento do T-Cross, primeiro SUV produzido pela Volkswagen no Brasil.
