Exclusivo: Curitiba recebe a maior exposição do artista plástico chinês Ai Weiwei; mostra será apresentada no MON

O Museu Oscar Niemeyer está em festa. E o motivo é mais que justificado: a partir do dia 2 de maio – portanto, daqui a um mês praticamente – entra em cartaz AI WEIWEI RAIZ, primeira exibição do polêmico artista plástico chinês Ai Weiwei no Brasil e também a maior já realizada por ele. Com realização do MON e apresentada pela Copel, a mostra ocupará o principal espaço expositivo do museu, o “Olho”. Também há a possibilidade de Weiwei participar da abertura, segundo a diretora-presidente do MON, Juliana Vosnika. A mostra reunirá mais de 40 obras e 15 vídeos, algumas inéditas nascidas de uma imersão profunda que fez no Brasil e em suas tradições populares.
Um dos principais nomes da cena artística contemporânea mundial, Ai Weiwei deixou a China em 2015 e se destaca no cenário internacional pelo interesse que demonstra pelas questões sociais e humanas, como a crise mundial de imigração. Alguns de seus trabalhos mais conhecidos são grandes instalações que causam impacto e mexem com os modos tradicionais chineses de pensamento e produção, como sua obra-prima Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn (Deixando cair uma urna da dinastia Han), que mostra o jovem artista derrubando intencionalmente uma urna cerimonial de cerca de 2 mil anos da Dinastia Han. Na exposição que vem a Curitiba a instalação poderá ser vista em peças de Lego.
