Estação rodoferroviária de Curitiba poderá se chamar Rachel Genofre

Integrantes da Frente Feminista de Curitiba e Região Metropolitana entregaram nesta terça-feira (05) durante a sessão plenária da Câmara Municipal, um documento onde pedem que a estação rodoferroviária receba o nome de Rachel Maria Lobo Oliveira Genofre. A proposta é uma homenagem à menina que foi assassinada, aos 9 anos de idade, em 2008 – há exatos 11 anos – e teve seu corpo deixado em uma mala dentro do terminal.
A mãe de Rachel, Maria Cristina Lobo Oliveira, participou da entrega na moção feita à vereadora Julieta Reis – procuradora da Mulher da Câmara Municipal e presidente da Comissão de Constituição e Justiça. “Vamos acatar a indicação. Isso [o crime] nos abala profundamente e eu tenho grande sensibilidade em relação a este caso, uma coisa tão terrível. Vamos discutir e o que for do interesse de todos será aprovado com certeza”, adiantou a vereadora.
O documento entregue aos vereadores classifica o caso como “emblemático” e denuncia que Rachel “foi violada e morta pelo modelo de masculinidade que o machismo e o patriarcado construíram nesta sociedade”. Também responsabiliza o Estado e aponta possíveis erros no processo para a solução do crime, além de justificar a homenagem a Rachel para que crimes como este não sejam esquecidos e nunca mais aconteçam.
