PUCPR inaugura câmpus na Itália em parceria com universidades internacionais

A Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná inaugurou nesta terça-feira (9), em Florença, na Itália, seu primeiro câmpus internacional. O evento contou com a presença de representantes da Kent State University e da PUCPR, entre eles o reitor Waldemiro Grenski, o diretor internacional da instituição, Marcelo Távora Mira, e o diretor da American Academy da PUCPR-Kent State University, Paulo Mussi Augusto, além de representantes das universidades de Bolonha, Ferrara e San Marino – parceiras da PUCPR na Itália – além de membros das universidades de Yale, Webster e Praga. A abertura do câmpus é mais um resultado da parceria da PUCPR com a Kent State University, de Ohio, desta vez com a participação da Dankook University, Coreia do Sul, da Webster University, dos Estados Unidos.
Para o reitor Waldemiro Grenski, o fato marca a caminhada da universidade paranaense rumo à modernização e inserção em outros países, colocando estudantes em contato direto com novas culturas, além de reforçar sua posição como polo de atração de estudantes e professores internacionais. O câmpus florentino é parte do plano da PUCPR de se tornar uma instituição global. As atividades iniciarão com uma seleção de programas de curta duração (extensão), que irá gradualmente expandir para oportunidades de intercâmbio e cursos de verão, até a oferta de disciplinas inteiras de graduação e pós-graduação nas mais variadas áreas do conhecimento. Os cursos serão ofertados em português, inglês, italiano ou outras línguas.
