A Volkswagen do Brasil firmou nesta semana uma parceria com o governo do estado em prol do Hospital Erasto Gäertner. O presidente e CEO da companhia na América Latina, Pablo Di Si, e o governador Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior assinaram o documento que garantirá apoio à construção de uma unidade de cuidados paliativos a pacientes em estágio terminal internados no hospital.
A parceria é uma das contrapartidas do Protocolo de Intenções firmado pela montadora com o governo paranaense em 2013 através do Programa Paraná Competitivo, que estabelece condições gerais para a realização de investimentos na fábrica de São José dos Pinhais. O mais recente deles, anunciado em 2018, fez parte do aporte de R$ 2 bilhões destinado ao desenvolvimento e produção do SUV T-Cross.
A Unidade de Cuidados Paliativos do Hospital Erasto Gäertner contará com uma equipe especializada em cuidados oncológicos específicos e de amparo psicológico aos pacientes terminais e seus familiares. Além de 26 leitos humanizados, com decoração mais semelhante a uma casa do que a um hospital, e acomodações para acompanhante, contará também com espaços de convivência para proporcionar maior conforto e apoio emocional a todos. O hospital curitibano é referência no estado no tratamento contra o câncer.
“A Volkswagen tem grande compromisso com o Brasil e com o Paraná, onde acaba de retomar o 2º turno na fábrica de São José dos Pinhais e também o anúncio da contratação de mais 60 pessoas para acelerar a produção do T-Cross, primeiro SUV produzido pela marca no Brasil. Além de gerar empregos, também temos responsabilidade com a comunidade no entorno de nossas fábricas, por isso estamos investindo em ações sociais na região”, afirmou Pablo Di Si.
